FITCHBURG – Fitchburg firefighters are doing what they can to help the city financially with a 5K road race to benefit the library, senior center and to help beautify the Upper Common.
With recent layoffs and cuts to the library and senior center budgets, and the possible closing of the Summer Street Fire Station, the Fitchburg Fire Department Relief Association wants to bring people downtown to help raise a little cash.
